Contemplative Service

The weekly Contemplative Service will resume at Hiram on Thursday, October 10th.

This brief service is a time to enter into the sanctuary and be still. We so often find that in that stillness, the body, soul, and heart know exactly what to do. Whether you are seeking time to contemplate or pray, to meditate or reconnect with your breath, to simply be… this is a service for you.

Blessing of the Animals

Nearing the feast of Saint Francis, we will gather with our beloved friends to give thanks for the creatures within our lives and offer a blessing upon them all for the coming year. Whether feathered, furred, finned, or scaled, your pet is welcome with you to this special service. The service will take place in the church garden (weather permitting) or in the fellowship hall.

The Stories that Shape Us: "Giving Up"

There is much that we can discover from taking something on, climbing, and the ascent. And, there is much we can discover when we finally let it go. What have you found when you have "given up"? Just the ground and the pain of falling? Or something more?

Come and join with your friends and neighbors to hear the stories that shape your community. Whether you'd like to share a story or just listen, all are welcome.

If you'd like to tell a story, please prepare to speak between 5-8 minutes. Story tellers can add their name to the hat at the beginning of the event and may be called on to share.
